Our Mission

GanguGu was built with one goal: make a number board game that's genuinely tense, quick to learn, and deeply replayable. We took the familiar structure of Bingo — filling a grid, calling numbers, forming lines — and layered in competitive mechanics, AI opponents, live multiplayer, and a rich store of tactical consumables to create something that rewards both strategy and speed.

What is GanguGu?

🎯 Core Concept

GanguGu is a Bingo-style competitive board game. Each player fills a grid (5×5, 6×6, or 7×7) with unique numbers. During a match, players take turns calling numbers. When your number is called, that cell on your board gets marked.

The first player to complete 5 full lines — any combination of rows, columns, or diagonals — wins the match. That moment is called the "Gangu."

⚙️ Tactical Depth

GanguGu is more than luck. You choose which numbers to call on your turn, and what you put on your own board matters. Every match is a balance of blocking your opponent's lines while accelerating your own.

Consumables like AI Move, Spy, and Extend Time add layers of decision-making that separate casual play from true competition.

Why GanguGu stands out

  • Board filling phase — unlike classic Bingo, you decide what numbers go where. This is where strategy begins.
  • Adaptive AI opponent — GanguBot learns your win rate and adjusts difficulty automatically using a calibration engine.
  • Two multiplayer modes — play with friends over local Wi-Fi (LAN) or compete with anyone globally through online rooms.
  • No ads during gameplay — our ad mediation (Unity LevelPlay) is configured to never interrupt an active match.
  • Turn timer pressure — a 15-second limit on each call keeps matches fast and forces decisive thinking.
  • Deep customization — app themes, grid skins, and tactical tools let you play your way.

Who built this

👤 Bernabas Abebe

GanguGu is developed and operated by Bernabas Abebe, an independent Android developer. Every line of game logic, server infrastructure, and user interface in GanguGu was built and maintained by a single developer.

The backend runs on AWS EC2 with PostgreSQL for transactions and Firebase Firestore for player profiles. The real-time multiplayer uses a custom WebSocket server built in Node.js.
